A raw corundum crystal pillar is held within the points of a six-sided star. This sacred geometric form, the hexagram, is composed of two interpenetrating triangles, and is a symbol of balance, duality, and the energetic potential born from the union of two opposite forces, such a chaos and order, creation and destruction, masculine and feminine, darkness and light. It is one of the most powerful and sacred star forms.
Corundum is one of the strongest minerals on our planet, second only to diamond. Most corundums are sapphire, though blue sapphire is the most valued. It was believed to grand immunity, invulnerability, and protection from all things natural and supernatural. Red or pink corundum is called ruby. It is a treasured guardian amulet: The ancients believed that the ruby is alive and radiates its own heat and light. Corundum owes its incredible strength to it's hexagonal, upward-spiraling, fortress-like molecular structure.
Our selection ranges from lilac-blue sapphire to dusty-rose ruby. (Pictured) Dark and pale grey are also available.
Settings are cast in bronze or solid sterling silver.
The chain is sold separately, in our Chains & Accessories section.
