These wands of picture jasper are sheathed in antique brass filigree and bound in ornate wire work. These unique stones seem to hold the dreams and memories of nature herself: The colors of forests and brilliant autumns, wild rivers and scorched red deserts. Jasper symbolizes the strength and healing power of the earth, and always has a story to tell...

Traditionally, jasper is named after its its place of origin, since the stones are so varied and visually unique. It is formed from the most common elements in the earth's crust, oxygen and silicon, and chemically identical to quartz crystal, yet its structure is amorphous, composed of sensitive, cell-like crypto-crystals.

Red Creek jasper is also called Picasso or Picture Jasper, because of its resemblance to abstract or impressionistic artworks. It is formed in a prehistoric seas or river beds, and its silicates were were probably from prehistoric microorganisms, colored with bands of iron, chlorite, and other elements, as the environmental conditions changed through the ages. This provided a palette of colors as varied as the seasons, resembling flames, trees, storm clouds, and surreal landscapes. The seven stones listed are currently available. Choose your favorite!

Matches beautifully with our custom antiqued brass chains (see them in our "Chains & Accessories" section).
