The oak is one of earth's most sacred trees, respected worldwide as a symbol of earthly strength, wisdom, and endurance. It is sacred to the kingly gods of thunder, such as Zeus (Greek), Perun (Slavic), and Thor (Norse). Perhaps this is because of the mighty size of these trees, their muscular lighting-bolt shaped branches, and the fact that they are more likely to be struck by lightning, and will often survive the blast. It was especially sacred to the Druids and pagan Celts. It is theorized that the word 'Druid' is derived from the ancient word for oak ("worshipers of the oak").

The oak is so admired and beloved that it was voted the National Tree of America, and it features on coins, flags, and heraldry worldwide.

This simple little oak leaf statement pendant holds all the glory of the oak in miniature proportions. On its own, it is elegant and light as a breeze. It is double sided, so it can be flipped in either direction, and can even be stacked with other pendants, or tiered for a more complex, dynamic design.

Available in bronze or sterling silver. Chain is sold separately.
