What immortal hand or eye Dare frame thy fearful symmetry? --The Tyger (William Blake)
Beauty is most intense when it is cloaked in danger. Perhaps that is why the great predators of the wild hold such allure. I've always been attracted to the graceful weapon-like form of a jaw bone, and thought it would look beautiful framing the most vulnerable lines of the human anatomy, the delicate bones of the collar and precious length of the throat. The effect is simply stunning.
This piece was modeled after the jaw of a fox. It is cast in white brass with a deep rustic finish that resembles antique silver.
